The Monadnock Region is known as the "Quiet Corner of New Hampshire," rich in history and cultural events! The largest city or hub, Keene, has excellent shopping, educational centers, and state of the art medical facilities.

Climbing in elevation, and driving north of Keene, you will arrive in Stoddard. The village center is one of the highest in elevation in the state! Although Stoddard has nearly 37,000 acres of land, most of it (75%) is in conservation easement! With only 12.5 miles of town road, there is limited development. The 40+ miles of old "given up" town roads are used for recreation. Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, mountain biking or just walking and viewing the multitude of old foundations gives a hint of the rich history of the town.

Stoddard has one of the lowest municipal tax rates due in part to the many lakes dotted with seasonal and year round properties combined with a vast amount of conservation land!
